"Care and compassion"

About: Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital

(as a relative),

Our beloved Father and father in law was cared for with compassion and kindness at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital G61. From the onset the Surgical Registrar (Dr Sean) apologies for incorrect spelling, clearly led us through all the information without medical jargon, without us feeling rushed and allowed us to carefully consider options through informed decision making.

He allowed us the time to work through all options and at no time was biased or gave his own opinions, he  basically just gave us the information so we as a family could decide.

The Nurses, Steph, Shane, Chris and Eliza were so compassionate and kind they could not do enough for us ( I am sure there were more and apologies for not including them personally). They could not do enough for us even though clearly they had other patients but at that point in time, we were their priority.  We were permitted to come in after visiting hours to spend as much time nothing was too much trouble.

We had to move out of the room whilst they cared for our beloved Father and father in law, and as I looked across the landscape at 7pm on a Friday night,  I couldn't help but think about those Politicians having maybe a few Friday night drinks or home with their families or whatever their Friday night ritual is,  that here right now are our Nurses caring for those that we love.  I saw it with other families how it seemed the Nurses took time and care and compassion  explaining that medical mine field that is health into relatable terms.

I understand that there is industrial dispute regarding Nurses wages at the moment, and I put it to you, that Iron Ore might seem like a precious resource to you,  but in my opinion this, right here, right now is ours, Nurses. Because you will need them in some shape or form in the future and I hope for your sake that you consider them very carefully in giving them their modest pay increase and it seems like this is the very least you  can do for these front line heroes.
Seriously I am not alone in saying this, considering our state budget surplus...

I wish them a Merry Christmas most of whom I believe will be working - again consider that - your ones being looked after by these amazing Nurses who will be sacrificing their time with their loved ones to look after yours....

Thank you so much xxx
