I am writing this to express my heartiest thankfulness to the wonderful team of Save Sight and the Sydney Eye Hospital that we have been dealing with over the years, but in my opinion particularly to the two most outstanding team members that you are so lucky to have as your employees:
One of them is Dominique, who has not only demonstrated outstanding professionalism, work ethics and commitment to providing high quality service, but also exceptional customer care, humanity and patience. Every time I talk to Dominique I feel like a VIP!
My mother is in her late 80's and has macular degeneration in both eyes and we’ve been coming for eye injections for years. Due to my mother’s age and health problems, it is not always possible to stick to the appointments given, so we occasionally have to reschedule them.
Every time dealing with my requests for rescheduling appointments, Dominique is not only kind enough to go out of her way to find a suitable date, but makes sure she provides me with the information about my mother’s condition and highlights the importance of sticking to the closest possible time of the appointment to avoid repercussions. She didn’t simply lecture me like I felt some others did in the past (saying I was not allowed to change appointments several times and threatening to refuse appointments if we reschedule them several times), but patiently listened to my explanations, offered solutions and support beyond expectations. She reminds me the importance of confirming the changes with the specialist noting the upcoming date of that appointment. She then follows up the conversation with an email with the changed appointment time. She is very polite, informative and helpful and is genuinely caring.
I am extremely impressed and thank her for being such a dedicated and responsible person – that really makes a huge difference!
Another outstanding member of your team is Bogdan. I don’t know his last name, but I am certain that everyone in the Eye Hospital knows who I am talking about!
For years he has been assisting my mother at her appointments, taking her though various complicated check in points, explaining procedures, making appointments and helping her in every possible way in her language, which makes her quite invasive eye injection appointments a delight! Recently, on the day when I couldn’t accompany my mother to her appointment, she fell at the entrance to the Save Sight clinic in that dark entrance corridor and was spread out on the floor on her stomach. As she has arthritis and both of her knees are replaced and not bending properly, she could not get up. Within minutes Bogdan was there (thanks to the mighty Save Sight team’s efforts in locating him!) and he lifted her singlehandedly (she is not the lightest of people!), checked that she was all right and took her to her appointment. The fact that I understand he is Ukrainian by background and my mother is Russian makes it all even more exceptional. Thanking Bogdan is not enough to show how much we appreciate him and his kind, considerate and selfless nature that has been making such a difference to us over the years. The commitment to the service and personal integrity that he displays are tremendous. He demonstrated on many occasions that he puts the interests of the public and the public service ahead of his own personal interests. I recall that he is on his way to become a police officer and this is simply outstanding – in my opinion, these kinds of people our community needs in every public job!
I truly believe that these two individuals are displaying incredible leadership skills and I hope their qualities, skills and abilities are noticed by their superiors and they are given praise and recognition they deserve.
I wish them the very best in their careers and hope to hear about their professional growth and success!
To the whole team - thanks a lot for the massive amount of effort that you put into everything that happens in Save Sight and Sydney Eye hospital - I feel it is not an easy task to confront different people of all ages and from all walks of life that enter the hospital for a variety of reasons. Based on my experience, you are really doing a great job! Thank you for being there for all of us.
Kind regards,
