Dear runningsz65,

Thankyou sincerely for your acknowledging the WA Country Health team at Bridgetown Hospital. Our team on duty, other staff and the hospital leadership team who were called in to help were calm, professional and decisive in their actions, ensuring the well being of patients and residents at all times.

Three of the hospital staff also went immediately to support the local aged care facility, who also did a tremendous job evacuating their residents and staff. Words can't express how proud I and the leadership of WA Country Health Service are of the Bridgetown Hospital community who during the bushfire emergency also provided emergency care for two critically unwell patients.

WACHS South West staff are regularly drilled for bushfire response, are community minded, caring and compassionate and the team at Bridgetown were exemplary in supporting the patients, community and each other over the weekend.

I would also like to acknowledge the amazing volunteers who risked their lives fighting the fire and the SJA staff and volunteers who helped evacuate patients to Warren Hospital.
