Recently I took my nearly pre-school aged twins in for a blood test. Two phlebotomists were involved in taking the blood and a third assisted hugely by caring for the non-involved sibling. I found this was fantastic as it allowed me to concentrate on the ‘patient’ and not worry about them getting stressed before their turn. The ladies taking bloods calmly explained the process and were so gentle. The children neither flinched or cried out. They were rewarded with stickers and certificates. Hopefully we won’t need to return but I couldn’t recommend them enough.
