"Beautiful care given by Crossley House staff"

About: Crossley House Residential Aged Care

(as a relative),

I cried a river for our dad when the hospital said he was no longer safe to live alone at home after experiencing memory issues caused by a stroke and the serious knocks to his head he sustained from falls.

This very active and capable 90-year-old man who had tenderly cared for our mum until she passed away from cancer, was now about to realise his biggest fear and go into a nursing home.

The staff at Crossley House treated our dad so beautifully from the moment he stepped foot in the door, like a treasured old family friend. They made allowances for his memory and hearing issues without causing him any embarrassment and went out of their way to make him feel at home. Every single person there provided beautiful care and attention and kindness and company at a time when he needed it most. They were so obliging and helpful to all of us ringing and visiting and asking for updates on everything from medication changes and his health issues to whether he had received our letters and gifts.

Nothing was too much trouble.

My heart broke when he passed away but I am forever grateful to the wonderful team of people at Crossley House who made me glad my dad was there under their amazing care for his final year.

Dear importerwx46,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your story with us, this type of feedback provides the staff with the fuel to continue doing the amazing job they do for our Community.

I am so proud of our team to hear your father's care was to the highest standard, and also of some comfort to you and your family during the difficult times.

I thank you for acknowledging that there are a lot of little things that make a great experience.

Crossley House is a community, as such is always saddened by the loss of one of our residents. We empathise with the passing of your dad but also celebrate that his time with us was such a positive experience.

Regards,

Paul
