Compassionate and professional nurse

(as a service user),

My teenage child came into Three Springs Hospital and needed to be seen by the ETS doctor. It was not an emergency but considering our local GP service is not open at this time, we either had to present or drive 150km to Geraldton. 

The nurse, Alanna, was so friendly and professional. She took care to treat my child as a young person and responsible for their own health, yet still checked with me as their parent to ensure that my child had all the information that was needed.

Her manner was so gentle and kind, and her knowledge was very good. She made both my child and myself feel at ease, and even though our presenting complaint was not an emergency, she still took the time and care to make sure that my child was treated as important.

We are very lucky to have this service in town to access when we live so far away from any other services.

Please pass along our thanks to such a compassionate, professional and knowledgeable nurse.

Thank you for sharing your health care experience on Care Opinion. It was wonderful to read about the professional, compassionate and friendly care which you both received.

We are fortunate to have Alana as part of our team at North Midlands Hospital, Three Springs where our aim is to deliver high-quality person centred care to our community. Taking the time to listen and respect both patients and family members/carers demonstrates our values of community and compassion.

The Emergency Telehealth Service (ETS) is a wonderful service that uses video conferencing equipment to connect local doctors and nurses with highly trained, emergency medicine specialists, ensuring specialist medical care is available to regional and remote patients.

It will be my pleasure to pass on your feedback to Alana and ETS who I know will really appreciate your kind words.
