My young child cut open the back of their heel. I took them up to ED where the nurse saw us straight away and was great. The doctor a short time later took us to a room looked at it and said they were going to glue it. The doctor didn’t wash the wound at all to sterilise it before glueing and I feel the bandage work was less then adequate. It fell off before we even left ED which the doctor noticed and even mentioned the poor job they did and sent us home. The wound completely split open again so I took my child to Wonthaggi clinic where the doctor said due to the location of the cut it needed stitches and, I believe, was shocked the doctor at ED didn’t wash it before glueing it.
In my opinion, it was a very poor effort by this doctor in ED who I believe obviously needs more training or a more qualified doctor should have overseen their work and I’m sure would not have been very impressed.
