I had a minor orthopaedic surgery yesterday and I am very grateful all went ahead given the current circumstances.
I felt everyone was so friendly and efficient from the moment I stepped into the front reception. I was admitted immediately and went straight up to the Short Stay Unit. I went straight through and admitted bedside. I waited less than 5 minutes and went straight to Theatre. Again, I was checked in straight away and taken straight through.
I stayed nearly 3 hours in recovery, I believe due to shuffling of beds on Short Stay but the recovery staff were fantastic. Once I got back to the ward I was settled and discharged once appropriate.
A huge thanks to all the staff; clerks, nurses, surgeons, registrars, anaesthetists, PSA etc. Everyone was fantastic, in my opinion, given the situation going on. Keep up the good work and we will come out of this stronger on the other side.
