Lost, alone, no boundaries in my life and my only friend seemed to be meth and pot! Disowned by my child, lost contact with my grandchildren, my other child in jail and also suffering with the sickness of addiction. Another Christmas alone, that’s when I made the call.
A few weeks later in another facility, 18 days clean and sober, 9 Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meetings under my belt and supportive contact from my child, including photos of my grandchildren! This program has been amazing! I have learnt the skills that I needed to turn my life around. Although I believe the course duration needs to be longer.
I feel I now know how to set boundaries and stick to them, what my triggers are and how to manage them. Leaving here, I know that I can keep clean if I use the tools that I’ve learnt. I feel daily NA meetings are crucial to keeping me accountable.
