I am currently a patient suffering from a Crohn’s disease flare up, and because of it, my chronic pain is also really bad. I see an external pain team to help with the chronic pain, they help to develop a plan.
I waited three days for the acute pain team to come and see me, and to put the plan into place. I was admitted early in the week and they came at the end of the week. When I asked them why it took so long for them to come see me (they were paged daily and I feel they refused to come as they assumed I didn’t have acute pain) they - the two doctors - both yelled at me and yelled over everything I was trying to say and said they would refuse to treat me. I cried and it didn’t help my pain and anxiety. I feel worse than I already did and it increased my symptoms and stress.
"I got told I wasn’t going to receive any treatment"
