I went through the MGP program at Bunbury Hospital for my 4th baby. The midwife Christina and her fellow Midwives were absolutely amazing the whole way through.
The midwives and the doctors on the ward in the hospital were great too except for the registrar that administered my stitches.
I had a very fast (1 hour) induced labour without any pain medication (I don't like taking any) and needed some stitches after for a small tear.
The registrar, who was the only doctor available, heavily insisted (I feel forced) me to have the gas so they could inspect me and do the stitches (even though it was against my wishes). They started by shoving a dry tampon very deep into my vagina that had grazes and a tear and my god I nearly lept off the table when they did this.
As they were doing the stitches in the tear, they kept touching a graze on the opposite side of my vagina. It was incredibly painful (even with the gas). This person's bedside manner was poor and they were generally rough.
Everyone else that had attended the birth was brilliant and I felt listened to and respected. I would highly recommend the ladies in the MGP program, they are amazing.
