"The heart-warming professionals"

I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year. Months later, I met a remarkable Medical Oncologist, Dr Tracey, at St George Hospital and began six months of chemotherapy at The Sutherland Hospital. On the first day of chemotherapy, I was quite anxious when I arrived at the Oncology Day Clinic of the hospital. 

Fortunately, I got help from a nurse, Joycelyn, who was friendly and proficient. Going through chemotherapy was a very difficult time because I had some side effects, especially in the first three months. Luckily, I had a number of follow-up consultations with Dr. Jared, who was exceptional and supportive. Besides, a team of experienced nurses, Kim, Joycelyn, Mocci, Megan, Jasmine as well as front desk staff, Catherine and Belinda, helped me a lot during my treatments. Dr. Tracey and Dr. Michael followed up with my treatments after Dr Jared went to the St George Hospital. My side effects began to decrease afterward and I completed the chemo swimmingly in the care of the entire team.  

After surgery, I met an extraordinary Radiation Oncologist, Dr Gina as well as her colleague, Dr Peter, at the St George Hospital. Although I was a little nervous about side effects, I had to confront the five-week radiation therapy that started earlier this year. Luckily, I was treated by nurses, Bernie, Annie, and Mel as well as another team of nurses, Iris, Caroline, Erin and Lily who helped me with dressings. The doctors and the nurses were all professional and reassuring and made me feel at home whenever they helped me closely at the Cancer Care Centre of the hospital.

I am deeply grateful to all these heartwarming people who made a difference in my journey. Their professionalism and care did bring me warmth and safety over the days.
