My child had a small surgical procedure on both hands at Perth Children's Hospital. I was really impressed with the nurses skill in making a highly anxious toddler feel at home in hospital, particularly when they were trying to do their obs. My child required a pre-med pre-anaesthesia, this was really well explained to us. After the operation we were brought through, post-care was explained to us thoroughly twice, and they also provided written information. We were discharged in a timely manner, allowing us to take our child home where our child was more comfortable without fuss.
Post-discharge my child had a temperature spike. I called the ward and my concern was dealt with adequately. They provided advice that allowed me to keep my child at home until we could arrange a GP appointment the next day.
