My husband, who has advanced early onset Alzheimer's disease, was recently admitted to the acute unit from his care home with low blood pressure and other symptoms. My daughter, sister and I went to visit him there, concerned about him and about how they would manage someone who is non-verbal and needs constant supervision. However, the staff were amazing - we were included and updated when we arrived and when we left, he had a care assistant assigned to him who was attentive and responsive, and staff were kind and accommodating toward his wandering. The doctor explained clearly what was going on and what needed to be done, and we left feeling comfortable with the care he was getting. We are grateful and relieved to have had such an experience at RPH.
