"My two C-section births"

I have given birth at Broome Hospital twice in the past two years. Both Caesarean Sections, one emergency, one elective. On both occasions Pam from MGP (Midwifery Group Practice) was my primary midwife. I cannot fault her care. Her knowledge & professionalism is amazing. I felt empowered and at ease during both pregnancies & knew I was in excellent hands. 

Broome theatre staff on both occasions were fabulous. Always communicating what was happening & extremely professional & compassionate. Both births were positive experiences. The surgical & anaesthetic staff were also great. Wendy, Wine, Dr Tony, Alex & Casey all deserve a special mention. Wendy came to see me everyday on the ward. 

I was well cared for on the ward. I had a private room which I was very thankful for however, at times it felt somewhat isolated. I would love to see a group lounge or something similar on the mid ward were new mothers could gather to feed their babies and chat over a cup of tea. I was left with an extremely sore back from the hospital bed & lack of a comfortable chair in the room. I cannot speak highly enough of the support staff. The room was regularly cleaned & the meals lovely. Staff were extremely respectful & always knocked before coming into the room. 

Overall I received excellent pre, peri & post natal care.
