I have broken my hand. I visited local hospital at Sutherland. Everything was nice - waiting time, attention from personal, quality of service. Doctor from the hospital made a booking for me at hand clinic at Sydney Eye Hospital at hand clinic department.
My first visit of Sydney Eye Hospital was positive. I waited not more than one hour. Doctor at that hand clinic made another appointment for the next week to check healing process of broken bones. It means that next appointment was made at Sydney Eye Hospital by their staff.
I arrived in hospital before my time, because I had to make another x-ray of my hand. I successfully registered at reception. However, then I waited for 2.5 hours, after that I asked a nurse about my case and how long I have to wait more to visit a doctor. She said that another 10 patients in the line before me and it would take another hour or so to sort out my case. Totally I spent 4.5 hours for visiting a doctor by already booked appointment.
Now I have a few questions - why I have to pay taxes if local (Australian) health system provides such poor service? While I was waiting I have lost $450 for not working. I lost a lot of time which is priceless. Nobody has even apologized for such inconvenience.
Now I am dead sure that I will never suggest anyone to move to Australia even for a short contract.
