I can't remember all the names of the staff involved in my recent visit. There was a bit going on around me and I wasn't the only patient presenting in ED.
As part of kidney tests performed in Melbourne prior to the presentation at ED, I had a stent inserted between my kidney and bladder. After returning home later that afternoon I started to feel some very acute pain in the kidney area. The pain was far worse than I had already experienced with my kidney problems.
My wife and I spoke to the specialist who had performed the procedure and we agreed that I should go to the ED at Wonthaggi Hospital to seek help.
My wife drove me to the hospital as the pain increased further.
My treatment by admission staff, the triage nurse, ED doctors (Rob & Paul) and nursing staff (Minda and Michelle) in the Short Stay Ward was excellent. It took about an hour for staff to get my pain under control. My confidence in my ability to weather the storm was returning.
It was very reassuring knowing that the medical staff had the knowledge, skills and resources to help me through this experience.
ED, a job very well done.
Thank you
