"Visit to the Emergency Department"

About: Kalgoorlie Health Campus

(as the patient),

Was not wearing safety boots (yes my wife told me to put them on) and kicked my toe onto the end of a date palm frond barb! ! ! Yep it hurt, and a small piece broke of just under the skin. Unable to remove it with tweezers so off to the ED I went. I only waited 15 minutes. I only had a 4mm piece in my toe, but still got the full work over. Toe block, removed barb, tetanus injection, dressing, script for antibiotics if needed and some pain relief to take home. The doctor was very professional and efficient. His advice, wear my safety boots next time!

Dear PPE prevents trip to ED,

Thank you for sharing your story with us.

I am pleased you came in to have your toe sorted and it's great to hear your visit to the Kalgoorlie Hospital Emergency Department was a positive one.

It is always a pleasure to hear great feedback which I will pass onto our wonderful caring staff.

Kind regards
