I have been a patient at this hospital for over 20 years. I see my doctor every 4 months, sometimes every week.
I have had a corneal graft done on both of my eyes. After my second corneal graft, I was told another team of doctors did the operation and I felt cheated when I found this out. I was very upset. I thought my usual doctor and his team was going to do the operation.
The operation shouldn’t have been done at that time. I believe they just wanted to practice on me, which made me feel like I was a guinea pig. Since my second operation I have had a lot of problems and eventually lost sight in that eye.
I trusted my doctor and didn’t want another doctor to operate on me. I should have been informed about this and had a choice about who operated on my eye, especially considering I have been seeing the same doctor (who I trusted) for so many years. This has upset me a lot.
Other than this, I have not complaints. I have nothing against this beautiful hospital. Overall, the doctors and nurses have been wonderful, compassionate and professional.
It’s just that on this occasion I felt that they just needed someone to train on.
