"Excessively long waiting time at ED."

We took our child to the Lyell McEwen Hospital because of concerns about their physical and mental health. The staff were absolutely amazing but we spent over 6 hours waiting to see a doctor. The concern is that our child's longer term health could be affected by the significant delay in seeing a doctor.  

We arrived at around 12am and have waited 7 hours already and are still waiting as I write this message. We have witnessed many other patients with noticeable health issues waiting and some leaving and many suffering pain whilst waiting. Is this the best we can do? If it is, it is really poor and disappointing that given the commitment by the state government to improving our health system and responses, there is just an appalling lack of organisational capacity to deal with patients in a timely way. We must do better than this! ! ! !
