"Three x cancelled theatre sessions"

About: Box Hill Hospital

(as the patient),

I had been an inpatient at Box Hill Hospital for 6 days. I had been waiting for a vascular scan for 5 of these days - my procedure was cancelled three on three different days following fasting on each of these days. It included an unnecessary weekend stay.

Throughout this communication was not been timely with hospital staff not informing me until late in the day that the procedure was cancelled. The hospital's apparent policy of not allowing overnight leave added to the general stress of the situation - although I understand that emergency cases have been the cause for my cancellations, being able to go home would have helped in this situation.

I am disappointed at the unnecessary stress and emotional toll that this has caused me and my extended family, both in 3 cancellations and the poor communication.
