My husband requires a flexible cystoscopy each year after a small tumour was found in his bladder a number of years ago. For the past three years he has had this procedure done at Canterbury Hospital by the lovely Dr David. I am writing this review as each time we attend this hospital we are welcomed by the admissions nurse, Adrienne in the Day Procedure Unit as though we are family. She is so warm and puts us immediately at ease and a smile on our faces during this stressful time. The other nurse, Kim who admits us and fills out paperwork is also unbelievably kind and sweet. She even put my husband's pressure socks on for him all the time chatting to us and making us relaxed. In fact, there is not even one staff member there in that unit who is not caring, friendly and helpful. We are remembered each time we come and greeted so warmly.
I would also like to say that leading up to my husband's admission the service we received was second to none. One of the staff, Sue, even gave my husband her mobile number so he could easily make contact with her over the pre-tests he had to have done. His English is not great and this was such a lovely thing for her to do. The other nurse who telephoned us regularly to ensure we had completed everything correctly was (I believe if my memory serves me correctly) another Kim. Oh my goodness, she was so efficient, capable and caring towards us. She went beyond what she needed to do. She and Sue knew we were traveling a great distance (14 hours drive) and they did everything they could to help us. We are public patients but we received private, 1st class service from the staff at this great hospital. Thank you all so much.
