I have been attending the eye clinic for over 2 years and am worried at the lack of space in a clinic where patient vision is impaired or absent.
The best resource this clinic has is the staff. They seem well trained and empathetic and largely try very hard to make the clinic run as well as possible.
I have seen many patients walk into outstretched legs of other patients in the cluttered narrow waiting areas. The nurses are constantly asking patients to move out of hallways to ensure safe access but there is nowhere to go. The admin staff try and attend to patients using the ticketing system but it is difficult for the elderly and vision impaired patients to understand.
I feel stressed and frustrated whilst at the clinic as there just seems to be too many patients. How many are booked in per hour and how many can be seen in an hour?
