Earlier this year my wife and I were 3 weeks into our planned 8 week holiday when she became a little unwell at Derby. By the time we arrived at Broome she had become extremely sick and we attended Broome ED for urgent medical assistance. Not long after she was admitted to the wards for further treatment. The doctors had diagnosed acute bowel infection and operated on her 4 days later. During her 3 week stay in the hospital we have nothing but the highest of praise for the doctors, nurses. physios, kitchen staff and the cleaning staff whom continually work in a high pressure environment. It would be remiss of us if we did not pass on a special thank you to Marg and Stacey (stoma nurse) for their extra help and guidance during this trying time. We will return to Broome to give our personal thanks when my wife is well enough to travel.
