"The care I received at Maroondah Radiology."

About: Maroondah Hospital / Medical Imaging

(as the patient),

I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and had to go to Maroondah Hospital Radiology the morning before my surgery later in the day. I had to have sentinel node marking. I have severe claustrophobia and anything to do with machines I find very hard. I have had lots of tests during my life and can honestly say the way I was treated and looked after was amazing. The operators were not at all condescending but made me feel more relaxed and gave me wonderful caring support. Even though I know they were very busy they never rushed me and gave me the confidence to continue. This has given me strength to accept future treatments with less apprehension. The radiology people were Monique and Travis. Exceptional care, understanding and obviously love of what they do as careers. I can't thank them enough.

Dear confidence to continue,

Many thanks for sharing your experience on Patient Opinion.

This would have been a really stressful time for you, not only for the procedure you were having, but also with claustrophobia.

Its very evident that Monique and Travis supported you through this difficult time with kindness and courtesy and I will make sure they and their manager at Maroondah Medical Imaging (Radiology) receive your lovely feedback.

I hope the remainder of your episode was as positive and that you are recovering well.

Many thanks and kind regards

David
