I had to take my toddler to PMH Emergency Department and I was so impressed with the care they received that I wanted to share my experience.
The triage staff were friendly and efficient and I had a very short wait until my child was seen. The nurse who took their observations seemed very caring and checked in on us a couple of times to see how we were going whilst we waited to be seen by the doctors.
Whilst we were waiting for the doctors I couldn't help but notice how calm the ED seemed even though everyone was very busy, and also how well the staff interacted with each other. In my previous experiences at other hospital EDs they have appeared chaotic and disorganised. The area also seemed really clean and tidy even though the building looks very worn and tired.
The two doctors who treated my child (Dr Will and Dr John) were both amazing. The had such a lovely manner in how they interacted with my child and they were very thorough in explaining their diagnosis to me and responding to my concerns and questions. I was provided with a very comprehensive discharge letter to give to my GP before I left.
Other than the tired building I couldn't fault the service and the care we received and I hope the team are proud of the service they provide to the families of WA.
"Excellent care my toddler received at PMH Emergency Department"
