"Hip Replacement Surgery"

I recently had a hip replacement. I just want to relay my many thanks for superb care by all staff. I received excellent nursing care and especially appreciated the whiteboard in the room and that it was updated regularly. The other thing that I really liked was that the staff introduced themselves at the beginning of each shift and put their name on the whiteboard. They regularly attended to check my needs and were always prompt when I needed assistance. Having the menu on my bedside computer screen was very helpful too and the choices were very good.

The pain management strategy was also excellent and much improved from when I had a previous hip replacement. I was very impressed.

Again, I just wish to offer my thanks to all the staff on 5 South. I had an excellent experience.

After a week I was transferred to Epworth Hawthorn for rehabilitation. Again I was very impressed with the care I received. The nursing care, Occupational therapy, Physiotherapy and also the pet therapy were all excellent. I know that I felt much better when I finally went home. Thanks to the time spent getting the extra Physio, I was much more confident to be home alone than I would have been had I gone straight home from hospital.

Keep up the good work Epworth. Thank you for a very positive experience during a very daunting time.
