"Wonderful support from Kids in Focus"

I really don't want to go into the whole sordid story as it will take too long. My ex partner has been a drug addict from an early age and had a miserable life due to this. Last year we were proud parents of a beautiful baby. DOCS were involved from day 1. We were fortunately allowed to keep our baby under a voluntary supervision order. At the end of this period, my partner unfortunately hadn't reduced their drug intake and DOCS removed our baby for a 30 day care agreement. I was then referred to "Kids in Focus",  who helped me get myself organised with psych appointments and a drug relapse prevention program. Weekly support visits were also undertaken as it was quite a stressful time with my relationship breaking down and my partner leaving everything up to me to organise. Without the help of Alison from "Kids in Focus" my baby might've faced months in foster care. With the ongoing support my child is now free from any DOCS orders and we can get on with our lives.
