My elderly mother is severely vision and hearing impaired but copes well in her own home environment. When I recently had to have unexpected major surgery, my call to Mum’s Case Manager at Gosford, resulted in a week of in-home respite with HammondCare staff covering her medication and meal requirements and providing overnight support. Mum says that with her case manager's and my organisation and staff who were kind, caring and always pleasant and professional, she found what could have been a very stressful period much easier to manage. Since I returned home, Mum's case manager and the staff have also provided assistance with meal preparation to back up the 6 weeks Compacks assistance I have been receiving. Without this help we might have been living on pizza and cups of soup for 6 weeks as I am flagging by day's end. Mum has come out of all this with a renewed confidence and independence and I have been so grateful for the kindness and support to Mum and myself from her case manager and the staff who visit us each week. We couldn’t have been in better hands. Thank you.
