"Box Hill Maternity - Know Your Midwife."

Recently I had my first baby at Box Hill Hospital. We were fortunate to be accepted into the Know Your Midwife Program and had Vanessa as our key midwife. Our experience was outstanding and would recommend it to any of our family and friends. The consistency in care with the same Midwife and the relationship that was built was invaluable. I really appreciated having one person giving me consistent advice and took on board everything that was recommended.

When we went into labour we were able to call Vanessa and get advice of when to come into hospital and to meet her in there. We were greeted by her familiar face and immediately made the situation stress free and very natural. In the end it was the three of us (mum, dad and midwife) until go time when another lady came in to help. We were only there for an hour before our baby was born into with world with no drugs and a very happy mum, dad and baby.

The care that we received throughout the whole experience was so wonderful!

The thing that some people may be weary of is the encouragement to go home shortly after birth but that was something we really appreciated. Being in our own environment and had a visit from Vanessa and her partner Bree and for about 5 of the next 7 days for all the care we needed.

We couldn't fault it at all.
