"The service that day was 10/10 at Esk Hospital"

About: Esk Health Service

(as the patient),

I was driving to Esk for work and I collapsed in the car park near work. I lost my balance and my speech was slurred, little did I know that I was having a stroke. I managed to get back in my car and drove out to the Esk Emergency Department where I collapsed in my car. The nurses came out and their response was quick to help. It has taken me along time to recover, especially with my balance and speech. I am now fully recovered and start back at work after months of recovery. Really big thanks to those nurses. A lot of people knock hospitals but in my books the service that day was 10/10.

Dear Gaza

Thank you for your feedback. It is so encouraging to begin the working week with a good news story.

Having a stroke can be such a frightening experience – how terrifying it must have been to experience these symptoms while driving. We were so happy to hear that you reached the hospital safely and that our nurses came out to help you.

Recovery and rehabilitation following a stroke can be a long and difficult road. It is good to hear that you are fully recovered and wish you the very best health for the future.

We will definitely pass on your kind words to all the staff involved in your care. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.
