My baby was delivered at 25+3 weeks and went straight to NICU.
You can only imagine what it would be like. Terrifying to leave your baby that is so tiny that may not live.
Well the NICU team were remarkable, compassionate, kind and went above and beyond to care for our baby.
They included us every day (as we lived out of town) with text messages and photos of our baby with little sweet messages to us from the nurses.
The nurses encouraged us every day at our lowest moments and were there for our high moments.
They are dedicated health professionals who are expert practitioners in their fields.
The doctors and registrars amazing and so kind and brilliant.
The administration officers who let you in. Again kind, caring and so professional.
Also the lactation consultants saviors to my breast feeding and expressing problems.
The oso staff beautiful. Lastly the discharge planners.
We wouldn't have got through 4. 5 months without the above mentioned staff of The Townsville Hospital. I felt my baby was safe every afternoon I left there until the next day.
The The Townsville Hospital is privileged to have such fine staff members in their NICU unit.
