"Teenager with acute stomach pain"

About: Angliss Hospital

(as a parent/guardian),

Friday night I returned home from work at 5. 30pm to find my teenage child with acute stomach pain. My child had stayed home from school that day as had been vomitting during the night and I thought this was simply a case of gastro. My husband and I ended up taking our teenager to the Angliss Hospital in Upper Ferntree Gully by 7pm. Was diagnosed with appendicitis by 8pm. We received wonderful care by each nurse (especially Irena) and the doctors (Andrew and Adrian) and Xavier (surgeon). Our child came home at 1pm Sunday and has recovered fully.

Dear Child Well Again

Thank you so much for providing your feedback on the care you and your family received at Angliss Hospital. It is always so pleasing to read feedback like this and I will have great pleasure passing this on to the individuals, their managers and the management team at Angliss Hospital - after all, we all enjoy a pat on the back from time to time! As you know, our Emergency Departments are very busy places and when everything goes well, it's really good to stop and reflect on that, just as you have done. Thank you again for getting in touch and I hope that your teenager is getting back to full health very quickly. I will pass your feedback onto the individuals and the care team at the Angliss today. Kind regards, Alan Lilly.
