I came to the ER yesterday with my young child who had fallen from a high shelf and landed head first on the tiled floor. My child vomited, went incredibly pale and started losing consciousness. I had to bring my other children as well because my husband was at work.
I did not have to wait at all. I was shown straight through to a bed and within minutes Dr Ehab calmly and kindly introduced himself to me. He gently and thoroughly examined my child and once satisfied, to my amazement, he made me a coffee. This simple gesture helped calm me as I was quite emotional at the thought of my child being injured. Dr Ehab also brought my other children an ice cream - much to their delight! Dr Ehab continually checked back with my injured child and watched as the condition improved which in turn calmed my nerves greatly.
As predicted, my other children became bored and restless. Nurse Jessica soon appeared with a portable DVD and a copy of the Chipmunks movie. Jessica also brought a tray with sandwiches, jelly and icy poles. The kids thought it was Christmas! It was so lovely of her and made them forget how worried they were about their sibling.
The treatment we received at the Angliss yesterday was second to none and has made me feel incredibly fortunate that this wonderful establishment is just down the road from my home.
Dr Ehab and Jessica are an absolute credit to the hospital and a genuine asset. Their kindness and wonderful bedside manner was truly awesome. I cannot thank them enough or praise them enough for their compassion and professionalism during what was, an awful predicament.
