I was an in-patient of Redcliffe Hospital recently and at no time did I actually speak to or see my doctor, just his trainee doctors. I was anemic and needed blood, and the doctors ordered an Iron infusion.
The next day, whilst I had visitors, when a member of staff came to tell me they were discharging me. They would not give me my usual drug, but insisted I have Omeprazol. I have had a reaction to this drug and I certainly did not feel at all well enough to go home. When I told the the trainee (as I believe she was) I did not feel very well at all, she replied that we are not here to molly coddle you. She also suggested to me that I go and live in 'Low level care' in a nursing home.
I have spent a number of months in hospital over the past few years and so I don't want to spend any more time as an in-patient than is required, but I felt so unwell I wondered why I was being rushed into being discharged.
"I felt I was rushed to discharged at the Redcliffe Hospital."
