"Midwife care and birth in Broome"

About: Broome Health Campus / Maternity/Midwifery

(as the patient),

I had my second child at Broome hospital under the care of the excellent MGP program. I was aiming for a natural birth after my c-section in 2022. I was supported and guided by my midwife Lorene so gently and knowledgeably. She and the team at Broome hospital were fantastic. We achieved our natural birth goal and feel we couldn’t have done it without Lorene and the team. Doctors Ruth and Wyne were incredibly supportive too and made second birth experience better than our first. The student midwife Sophie was incredible and added to our great experience too.

I also attended a meet the midwife morning tea during my pregnancy which helped me feel at ease and more comfortable with the other midwives.
I hope the MGP program continues on, I think it’s an amazing service supporting successful, safe births at Broome Health Campus.

Dear puppisww45,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your beautiful birth story and kind feedback about your experience at Broome Health Campus. It’s truly heartwarming to hear that your second birth was a positive and empowering one, especially as you achieved your goal of a natural birth after a previous caesarean.

We're incredibly proud of our Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) program, and your words are a wonderful reflection of the care and dedication our team strives to provide. I’ll be sure to pass along your heartfelt thanks to Lorene, Dr Ruth, Dr Wyne, student midwife Sophie, and the rest of the team – I know they’ll be touched to hear how much of a difference they made during such an important time for you and your family.

It’s also lovely to hear that the ‘Meet the Midwife’ morning tea helped you feel more comfortable and supported during your pregnancy. Community connection and continuity of care are at the heart of what we do, and your feedback is a strong reminder of the impact these services can have.

Thank you again for sharing your experience and for your support of the MGP program – we absolutely agree it’s an invaluable service, and we’re committed to continuing to provide safe, compassionate, and woman-centred care here in Broome.

Warmest regards,
James Sherriff
