"Supportive care for my Dad and our family through a challenging diagnosis"

About: Armadale Hospital Royal Perth Hospital

(as a relative),

My father is currently through a difficult time with his health, having been recently diagnosed with Neurodegenerative Brain Iron Accumulation (NBIA), and I wanted to share the positive experience we had with the staff we have seen at Armadale Health Service and Royal Perth Hospital.

From the very beginning, we felt supported. All Drs and Health Care Workers involved, including the social worker, physio and OT have been kind and patient—taking the time to explain everything clearly and make sure Dad feels heard and understood. It was such a comfort to have Drs and health staff who genuinely cared about how we were feeling through it all.

Throughout Dad’s care, we have felt that he has been treated with dignity and respect. As a family member, I feel confident that he was in good hands. We never feel rushed, and every question we have is always answered.

There’s not a thing we would change; we are truly grateful for the support we continue to receive. It seems the Staff are all very busy yet still give all patients the time and care they require, and it has not gone unnoticed by myself and my family. .

Thank you to everyone involved at both Armdale Health Service and Royal Perth Hospital- you are helping us through a really tough time, and we’ll never forget it.

Dear kima3388

Thank you for taking the time to give your heartfelt feedback about the care your father has received at Armadale Kalamunda Group (AKG) and Royal Perth Hospital (RPH).

I was sorry to read about your father’s diagnosis and understand that this must be a very difficult time for him and your family.

I am so pleased to hear that staff have taken the time to answer all your questions and your dad feels heard, as this is very important.

We are proud of the care that our dedicated team at AKG strive to deliver, and it is always pleasing to know when this has been achieved.

We really appreciate you taking the time to provide us with this lovely feedback which I will be delighted to share with the AKG and RPH teams.

Warm regards,

Dear kima3388,

Thank you for taking the time to express how supportive Royal Perth Hospital (RPH) staff have been for your father and family during such a stressful time in your lives. Providing our patients and family members with the right care and support at the right time is something we strive to achieve. I am so pleased to know we have excelled in this area.

Your kind words of appreciation mean a lot to us, and I will ensure they are passed on to staff, especially the Social Work, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy teams with my heartfelt thanks on your behalf.

I wish your father all the best with his ongoing healthcare journey.

Kind Regards,

Ben Noteboom
