"Taking my 8mo son to ED"

About: Sutherland Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

My husband and I took our son to emergency at Sutherland at 1am. From the time we entered we were greeted and assisted by admin staff, and were promptly seen by the lovely triage nurse. We were then taken to the paediatric section where we were met with another wonderful nurse who gently took my son’s observations without causing him any distress. The doctor’s encounter was quick but informative. We left feeling well supported and safe to return home with a structured plan to follow if anything escalated. I am very grateful for our experience.

Dear waltzcd68,

Thank you for sharing your recent experience at Sutherland Hospital. I was very pleased to read of the positive experience you had with your young son. It is very reassuring that you felt safe and supported and you were provided with a plan to return home safely.

We are very fortunate to have dedicated and caring staff working at Sutherland Hospital. Your kind words will be share with the emergency department and I know they will be very pleased to read them.

I do hope that your son is recovering well.

Best wishes

Vicki Weeden
