Had taken daughter to many different in patient stays from most for a four years. She has a stayed in EMyU more than a few times. On the other side now lucky and reassessing her journey and the care and advice give and the family support got our family to where it is now.
Mental health is a very hard illness and as a parent I know that you just want your child to just be well and when they are still struggling while they are there and when they come home it’s easy to be angry and say why are they not listening and doing something about this.
There is no miracle cure for mental health, like most illness little by little you learn to manage things with the right supports. I know that EMyU was that for us.
The strong nurses that gave my daughter strength to fight and the caring ear to me when I thought there was just no hope. The young doctor I think was called Mattew was an amazing doctor who really listen and really saw what was going on and treat the situation as serious as it was made the journey so much more bearable.
I believe the building and rooms need many improvements which I think is very important as the environment is poor it does affect people mental health. But like all illness that people don’t want to talk about, this seems to be on the state government health bottom of the list.
"Positive journey"
