I am alone in this country, completely alone, with my only child in preschool. My English is just broken English. I just moved to a transition house from a refuge due to DV. I don’t know any neighbours and so not trusting anyone. I got in the emergency room with my child. The doctor, they made me feel like I’m a bad parent by asking, so you're the patient, not the child? why you take the child here? is there not any adult to stay with the child at home? - If there was anyone else there with me, I would have asked them to help me instead of the ambulance. I’m sure the doctor didn’t look at my file or if they did look at it and still ask that question with that attitude… that’s disappointing!
I was afraid if I pass out at home, how my child would be? I was searching for a night time open pharmacy, I wanted to drive there with my child, but I scared to make accident on the way. So I called ambulance. I don’t expect to stay with my child until 1am just to wait for the doctor to allow me go home though. They did everything before 11pm and even the blood test results has came as normal. But still waiting to 12am and then 1am…
