"Care in the Renal Department"

About: Prince of Wales Hospital / DB4 - Renal Ward

(as the patient),

It’s been excellent here in the Dickinson Building, Level 4. I’ve been here for nine days.

The people in the department, from the cleaners all the way up to the nurses, matrons, and clerical staff, are all excellent. They speak nicely to you, never put you down, and couldn’t be more caring. I’ve got nothing but high praise for them.

I have a respiratory problem, perhaps COPD and chronic asthma—my lungs aren’t good. I was in a different ward than usual, and even though it’s not what that ward normally handles, they looked after me fantastically. Everyone spoke to me with kindness.

Jen, Ali, and Matron Melissa were wonderful. The respiratory doctors were excellent.
