I want to say a big thank you to the lovely people I dealt with through rehab from Fremantle Hospital—SMHS Rehab in the Home—just lovely people who came out and visited me and who I dealt with.
Well, the occupational therapist was Penn, and the speech therapist was Sophie. The social worker I dealt with, I’ve only spoken to online in text messages—Lena, lovely lady. Everyone has been very, very helpful to me. The other two, the occupational therapist and the speech therapist, called in to see me at my sister’s place where I’m currently staying.
I just want to be sure they are acknowledged—they certainly did a wonderful job for me and my welfare. So that’s all, just to say thank you to the staff.
I had a stroke and was at Fiona Stanley for the first few nights until I got a spot in Fremantle Hospital under the glorious big boss lady in charge of neurology (Italian-Australian lady - whose name I just blanked on!), and all the staff and people in Fremantle were just wonderful to me. I was wonderfully lucky. I did leave a card for her and the cohort, and I’m very grateful.
I just want to say thank you to all of them. I hope I never, ever see any of them again—in the nicest possible way. It was just wonderful to be respected so much and to have their help on my journey to get out of the place. But I was very lucky—I only had a speech problem, physically very well, doing my yoga every morning and walking everywhere. There was this nice little garden out there I would walk in when I was there for just over a month, and the people were fantastic.
I had a wonderful experience with them all, and they were just wonderful.
"Wonderful experience"
