"Pregnancy and birth"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Family Birth Centre

(as the patient),

I was supported at the Family Birth Centre under midwife care. I had the same midwife through the pregnancy and was supported by her team for my birth. The guidance and care I received during this time was amazing! My midwife understood my needs and my hopes for my birth and made sure I was informed at every point of the pregnancy. I felt confident going into my birth and safe and secure knowing that I was looked after by the team. The post natal visits at home were fantastic and I learnt so much about how to care for my baby and had reassurance each day that he was doing well. Also that I was healing after the birth. I cannot recommend the Family Birth Centre at King Edwards more highly. Thank you!

Dear marsqr65

Congratulations on the birth of your son! It's wonderful to hear that you had such a positive experience at the King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH) Family Birth Centre. The continuity of care from a known midwife and the personalised attention you received must have been incredibly reassuring.

The Family Birth Centre is designed to provide a home-like environment for pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care, and I’m so pleased to hear that you found these features beneficial and that they contributed to your positive birth and postnatal care. Thank you for taking the time to reach out, and for letting us know how much the care you received meant to you and your family. We will be sure to convey your appreciation to all the teams involved in your care.

Warm regards

Karen
