"Emergency Department Care"

About: Geraldton Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

My partner and I attended the Emergency Departmeng with concerns I was losing amniotic fluid. We were obviously very anxiety about what could be happening with our baby. We were seen by jnr Dr Gaya who asked comprehensive questions and was thorough in her care, providing feedback as she worked with us. We were also seen by Dr Daniel. Dr Daniel had thorough knowledge, answered questions and developed a plan alongside us so we felt reassured but also satisfied about the next steps. The ED was incredibly busy at the time but neither Dr rushed us nor made us feel our worries were invalid. We left feeling confident in the care we received and reassured. We were feel very grateful for such a brilliant experience in ED at what felt like a stressful time!

Dear GeraldtonS,

Thank you for sharing your story on Care Opinion.

I’m sure having pregnancy complications was a very frightening situation to be in. It must’ve been so reassuring to be in the safe and knowledgeable hands of Dr Gaya and Dr Daniel. They are both patient focused clinicians, who provide expert care that has been acknowledged by our community on several occasions. I will ensure they are both provided your kind words and they know how much their skills and compassion were appreciated by you and your partner. I will add my appreciation here and acknowledge how appreciative all the staff are of their work.

I hope everything is progressing well with your pregnancy and wish you all the best.

Regards

Cameron Ross
