"Child health and immunisations"

About: Geraldton Community Health Service

(as a service user),

I am a new parent with a six week old baby trying to make an appointment with Community Health in Geraldton to have my baby's 8 week immunisations and child health check. I am finding it terribly difficult to get through to reception via phone to make these appointments. Each time I call I am asked to leave my name and phone number for someone to return my call when they are available. I have now missed two return calls due to being busy with my baby and other appointment, so am now calling for the fourth time after there was no return call following my third attempt. As a Registered Nurse I think this is appalling, it is making something so important challenging for many and ultimately creating a barrier for our already vulnerable population in Geraldton to acquiring access to preventative health.
