"Experience after fall."

About: Grafton Base Hospital / Accident & emergency

(as the patient),

I took a tumble in 2022 and was transported to Grafton Hospital emergency. Numerous X-rays were taken and I was diagnosed with a broken left wrist, fracture of the tibia plateau left knee and a right ankle avulsion fracture.

I was moved to the general ward in a single room with surgery scheduled for Saturday morning. They put a moon boot on my right foot and was told not to use my left leg. Left arm was immobilised. All was well till I rang the bell to go to the toilet. I felt the nurse was most unhelpful. I tried to explain that I could not weight bare on the left leg and the right was too unsteady in a moonboot . Only had my right arm for balance. This went on for two days and I was operated on Sunday…plate put on wrist.
