"Saved my Life"

About: Geraldton Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I presented at the Emergency Department of the Geraldton regional hospital at 11pm one night last month suffering a heart attack. The duty Doctor and her team were amazing, within minutes I was on a bed and being treated.

The staff I saw were extremely well drilled and professional, they not only kept me alive they also kept my wife and I informed all through the process and showed great compasssion.

When it was decided I needed airlifting to Perth by the Flying Doctors the whole process ran like clockwork, so much so that from the time I presented at the hospital, 2 ambulance rides, flying doctor flight travelling 450km's and Surgery, took only 6 hours and I was in a hospital bed at 5am in Perth recovering.

I cannot thank the Emergency department staff enough, I think people often criticise the public health system but we have one of the best one's around.

I hope I don't require their services in the near future but it's comforting to know they're there.

From my wife and I many thanks, we owe you!
